Fashion is not Just about Clothes...It's about Confidence and Self Expression

What's Up with the Name?

While scanning thru vintage photos of family, I discovered some wonderful pics of my grandmother. When she and my grandfather were dating, she would take snapshots of herself in great outfits and send them to him during WWII. (see some of the pics and read more about her along with the other amazing women who all had a hand in my passion in the post "How it All Began") She always wrote a sweet message and signed the back "all my love, Myra". The very best part is that these were not just pictures, they were a glimpse into her playful side and who she was at the time. I realized she also shared my love for fashion...it was a great discovery!

It's a Passion

My passion for fashion (and i hate that it rhymes) has lead me to start a blog. I've been asked what my dream job would be and I'd have to say a personal shopper or fashion consultant. When contemplating starting my own fashion consulting biz years ago I was discouraged when asked why I thought I could be a consultant. It didn't look so good on paper. But, I think most of us know what we want to do or be when we grow up from a young age. I have always been passionate about fashion...not necessarily high fashion but just helping women realize that "Yes!" you can wear that and seeing how the end result makes them feel. You don't have to be rich to be able to dress great! Thank goodness for Issiac Mizraih bending the rules and designing for Target....which started the fashion ball rolling and gave the every day women a taste of some of the higher labels.
So I guess I would like to consult the "everyday woman"....I think Sara Jessica Parker summed it up for me "Fashion should be a choice not a Luxury"

It's a lot about fit, knowing what looks good on you, and maybe that one great accessory(but that's a whole other post). And most of all confidence!
Fashion should be approached more like art and not about what everyone else is wearing.
