I have always had a passion for fashion (ugh i hate that it rhymes)! It's been one of those thing I have known since I can remember. My early fashion idols were my grandmothers...
One was a diva...dragging me to her closet at every visit to see her latest purchase. Whether it was over the top shoes, a larger than life hat, or princess like costum jewelry. The other a true Southern lady who was always put together and proper right down to her, forever, painted fingernails. Very "smart" and consistent, evident from her weekly visits to the beauty parlor. (I only wish a quarter of her consistency rubbed off on me)
My list of fashion idols have grown to consist of anyone who can create a well fitted, figure flattering, real women, affordable clothes. Once asked what would be my dream job...that's way easier said than ever done! A personal shopper and or fashion consultant. More than a few years ago I played with the idea of becoming a fashion consultant.....but when asked by the (lets call her) business adviser why I was "certified" to be called a fashion consultant I was stopped dead in my tracks. It didn't look so good on paper. Having stayed home for 14 years with my boys didn't leave me much time to "consultant" anyone that made me "certified" (in her opinion).
But, what I did and do know is how great it feels to show a women how she can dress to look her personal best. Not dress in the trends or whats in the latest mags (although love to look), but dress for her body type and what makes her feel good!
All my life I have worked in the fashion and sales world. But, recently took a M-F "real" job. So I am
going thru a little fashion withdrawal....hence the fashion blog was created.
So this is not just a fashion blog, but a thank you to all the beautiful strong women, in my past and present, who have contributed to my passion. Take a peek at a few fav pics of these incredible women......
